These pages are for those who carry pockets full of pebbles and questions instead.\u201d<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>I first began thinking about Little Explorers one morning beside the shore.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>The tide had gone out, leaving footprints across the sand \u2014 some made by birds, others by boots not much taller than the dunes.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p><img src=\"https:\/\/images.podos.io\/1qabrm2i7afuuiv8xayner02749yj29rj8juqqgxpkrciajr.png.png?w=1140&amp;project=beastly-boroughs-416041&amp;v=2\" alt=\"1qabrm2i7afuuiv8xayner02749yj29rj8juqqgxpkrciajr.png.png?w=1140&amp;project=beastly-boroughs-416041&amp;v=2\" \/><\/p><p>Following them along the beach reminded me of something I had almost forgotten.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>Children do not always notice the same things that grown-ups do.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>A grown-up might see a woodland path.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>A Little Explorer might wonder what disappeared around the bend.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>We might see shells scattered by the tide.
