I flutter along woodland paths, skim over sandy shores and hop between tree roots, looking for things that are easy to pass by.<\/p>
\u00a0<\/p>
That\u2019s one of the best things about being a robin. You can get wonderfully close to everything.<\/p>
\u00a0<\/p>
Frost resting on a leaf. A shell shaped just so. Footprints disappearing into the mud. A ripple in the sand that looks like a sleeping wave.<\/p>
\u00a0<\/p>
There is always something to discover when you know where to look.<\/p>
\u00a0<\/p>
<\/p>
I\u2019m not the only one exploring the Boroughs. The Greengatherer walks these paths too. He notices how trees change through the seasons and how shorelines shift with the tide. I tend to spot different things \u2014 a feather beside the path, the sound of reeds in the breeze, or something scurrying beneath the leaves.<\/p>
\u00a0<\/p>
We explore the same places, he and I \u2014 just at different heights.<\/p>
\u00a0<\/p>
He once told me:<\/p>
\u00a0<\/p>
\u201cBran, every place has something worth noticing \u2014 if someone remembers to look.\u201d<\/p>
\u00a0<\/p>
So that\u2019s what I do.<\/p>
\u00a0<\/p>
And whenever I discover something interesting, surprising or simply too good to leave behind, I bring the story back to share with you.<\/p>

Then again, we might not.<\/p>
